I Memorized Neil Patel’s Black AMEX Card Number At Elite Retreat

We were riding back from dinner at a really fancy restaurant. Neil was about as impressed with the fancy food as I was. On the way back to the hotel in the H2 Limos provided by elite retreat somehow we got on the subject of AMEX cards. A few us us all had the Business Platinum card, but Neil was pressured into whipping out his black AMEX card. A few of us passed it around (it really is made of metal for those wondering). I took a quick look or two at it and then handed it back to him. Then I told him the number, the name and the expiration date. Neil took it all in stride and said yeah but you didn’t get the security code. Oh thats easy I said, lemme see the card again. We all laughed as Neil put the card back in his wallet, safe from my eyes.

Neil, not to worry, I have since forgotten the number.. :)

  1. Hey John,
Nice meeting you at Elite Retreat. Hope that gaming site of yours is doing much better…

Whoah, you must have an amazing memory. I can barely remember my own phone number. Haha.

  2. I tried getting into mnemonics awhile back, but find that associating images with numbers allows me to remember them for much longer. Because we all know that you can only be real nerd if you know at least 50+ digits of Pi.

  3. @Gyutae It is doing pretty good. It has been around about a week or so going strong with about 200 members. Hope it continues to grow

@Jason. lol. I only know pi to 6 decimal points. I never bothered going further :) For me I find it isn’t too bad to throw things into short term memory and then sort out which things to remember and which things to forget. And to be fair Neil’s black Amex card “which I have forgotten” had quite a few zero’s in it.. I think it was 4 and then a set of repeating numbers in the middle, so it wasn’t too bad to remember. *NOT THAT I REMEMBER IT* cuz I dont :)
